Most PHP repositories contain JavaScript for the build, and the moment one of those scripts does something operational it needs an owner.
scripts/ contains:
build.mjs the asset build. everybody edits it.
sync-stock.mjs calls two APIs, writes to the database.
written in a hurry in March. nobody
has opened it since.
the question is not "which language" — it is whether
this has tests, a log destination, an alert and a name
next to it. sync-stock.mjs had none of the four.
The build script is fine unowned because its failure is loud and immediate. An operational script in the same directory inherits the assumption that it is tooling, and it is production code sitting in a folder nobody reviews. Moving it somewhere with the same standards as everything else — or rewriting it in the main language for that reason alone — is a defensible use of an afternoon.
